Into Dust [SL Updates] - Howl - 05-05-2013 I could possibly be fading Or have something more to gain I could feel myself growing colder I could feel myself under your fate -Mazzy Star "Each man lives for himself, uses his freedom to achieve his personal goals, and feels with his whole being that right now he can or cannot do such-and-such an action; but as soon as he does it, this action, committed at a certain moment in time, becomes irreversible, and makes itself the property of history, in which it has not a free but a predestined significance. " -Leo Tolstoy "He sat a long time and he thought about his life and how little of it he could ever have foreseen and he wondered for all his will and all his intent how much of it was his doing." -Cormac McCarthy ---------------------------------------- Alright folks, I'm going to be getting the ball rolling on this SL next week (the week of the 12th,) so if anyone is interested in participating, you can sign your character up for scenes by replying to this thread. But first, a few things: At the moment, there is no particular rush or timeline on this SL, so if people feel like they don't want to jump into anything yet, I have no problem postponing it. Likewise, anyone is welcome to sign up at any point during the SL's run, so if you want to play but don't have the time right now, or if you don't have a character in the system yet but plan to submit one, you've still got plenty of time. That said, no one is required to participate in this (or any) SL. It is completely optional. So don't worry about feeling obligated. If my plans don't work out, I'll find another way to give you guys access to the chantry. Disclaimer Time: Yes, there will be a possibility of risk to your characters - both physical and psychological. It's difficult to say how great a risk exactly, because it all really depends on your characters and the choices they make. But I will say that if your characters choose to actively engage with dangerous elements, then the risk level could become high. (That's not to say that this particular tactic is right or wrong. Just that there is risk involved.) There will also be dark subject matter, but I will do my best to accommodate anyone who has specific triggers (if I think a scene may involve triggering subject matter, I will warn in advance.) Now that said, this is not a combat-focused SL (though there could be [will probably be] combat involved at some point.) The primary function of this SL is to solve a mystery (what happened to the local magi?) and to put your characters into a situation that involves making difficult choices. So you can think about whether or not this sounds like something you'd enjoy. Still interested? If so, reply to this thread with a note about your general availability. I will more than likely be running one scene per week until the SL is concluded, but I may also run multiple scenes initially if any characters require solo scenes. RE: Into Dust [SL Sign-up] - errin - 05-05-2013 I'm definitely down for this! My general availability is evenings after 5pm MST. RE: Into Dust [SL Sign-up] - CourtCat - 05-06-2013 Haha, I'm into it as soon as I finish my character, which should be today after dance, or maybe tomorrow. Problem is availability! I'm daytime until nine, maaaaaaaaybe ten EST barring various kid activities/choir practices/etc. RE: Into Dust [SL Sign-up] - Shayla - 05-06-2013 I am so ready to get into this. ![]() RE: Into Dust [SL Sign-up] - jamie - 05-06-2013 Sign me up! I'll be in the Daytime Until 9PM Eastern Club, excepting I can stay up later on Fridays. RE: Into Dust [SL Sign-up] - Howl - 05-08-2013 Alright, I'm thinking the best way to handle this is to split you guys into two groups for the first week and do one scene during the day and one scene in the evening. So Jamie and Court will be one group, and Niko and Shayla will be the other group (and if anyone else signs up, they can join whichever scene works best for them.) I'll send out FPMs soon regarding scheduling. RE: Into Dust [SL Sign-up] - mnemosyne - 05-10-2013 I hereby sign up! RE: Into Dust [SL Sign-up] - Howl - 05-12-2013 Alright, now that we've got the scene schedule worked out (Niko/Shayla/Liz Tuesday evening, Jamie/Court Friday afternoon,) if any of you guys have any specific triggers or things you would prefer not to see in a scene, please shoot me an fpm to let me know. I don't really anticipate anything especially traumatic happening in either of these scenes, but it's always good to know these things in advance and I'll keep the information on file for the rest of the SL. I'm absolutely terrible at guessing scene length, so I can't say exactly when we'll be done, but if anyone needs to leave early it shouldn't cause any problems. I don't think either scene will take more than 4 hours, but it depends on how much character interaction occurs. Liz! Sera's getting a special fpm. I will send that out some time tomorrow. RE: Into Dust [SL Sign-up] - Joey - 05-13-2013 I'd like to try and squeeze Jim into one of these scenes if there's room! My schedule's usually erratic, but I can see myself making the Tuesday evening one if it's not full. My schedule's usually erratic, but I can see myself making the Tuesday evening one if it's not full. That's fine! I can add Jim to the Tuesday scene. We're starting at 6pm MST if that works for you. 4 people in a scene is about my limit though, so if anyone else wants to get in on this week's scene schedule, they'll need to sign up for the Friday scene. |
