Downtown Denver - phil - 06-19-2013 I was googlin' around trying to find a place in Downtown Denver where there might be a soup kitchen, and came across this site with an interesting little tool that helps you explore the Downtown neighborhoods. So I thought I'd share ![]() From the site: Quote:Downtown Denver has multiple personalities, in the healthiest sort of way. This urban community is comprised of 11 distinct neighborhoods. Explore each, and discover the varied cultures, architecture, food and hang outs. Passionate homeowners are quick to tell you what makes their corner of Downtown Denver special. Click on the neighborhood you'd like to investigate, and we'll tell you about some of its hidden treasures. RE: Downtown Denver - errin - 06-19-2013 This is great information, Phil, thanks! I went ahead and added the link onto the map, too, in the Downtown Denver area. RE: Downtown Denver - Joey - 06-19-2013 Totally worth a click (and a bookmark). Phil, please keep on sharing these links as you find them. They are great. RE: Downtown Denver - kai - 06-19-2013 And if you ever wonder "is it really like that?", just ask! There's a reason why the phrase "BroDo" exists and why I did not get an apartment in Five Points. That map is especially useful, since for having such a small footprint, these neighborhoods are surprisingly distinct, and it's REALLY USEFUL to have a visual of where the 'boundaries' are. And: Phil! On Lawrence and Park Ave W, there's a triangular sort of 'park'. That park and the area outside Catholic Charities and the Denver Rescue Mission are usually filled with homeless/indigent people, mostly men; hanging out, talking, napping, what have you. You probably already found the soup kitchen-esque things you were looking for, but y'know. For added flavor. RE: Downtown Denver - phil - 06-20-2013 (06-19-2013, 04:35 PM)kai Wrote: And: Phil! That's exactly the kind of spot that my Gnawer kin is going to be hanging out at. I guessed Five Points, but that was mainly due to my associating it with the 19th century NYC version ![]() RE: Downtown Denver - errin - 07-13-2013 It looks like that link doesn't work anymore, but if you click here and then click "neighborhoods" it should give all that information again. |
