Submission Is No Path for Her (Shoshannah mood-ish + learning stuff) - CourtCat - 06-26-2013
It should probably be said, Shoshannah is not a natural academic. She doesn't particularly like to study or research or any of those things, and yet she'd said she'd do it - the girl who personifies anger and defensiveness spends a lot of her time in the library since she came to stay at the Chantry house, sifting through books in languages that most young adults (outside of the Order of Hermes, perhaps) gave up for dead long ago. There are a few benefits, perhaps, to growing up the way she did, to being exposed to the things she was at such young ages. It means that she can read texts in German and Arabic and Greek and Latin and so many other languages and dialects that she finds herself flooded with information at varying levels of usefulness on many things to do with nodes and the responsibilities inherent therein.
Needless to say, this initial research leads to further delving into how one deals with guardian spirits (because that's different than spirits of the dead, with whom Shoshannah is more than passingly familiar), and warding, and . . . well. There's only so much book learning a practical girl like Shoshannah can handle, even more or less alone out in the sticks, so that leads to more concrete practice, more learning about the jigsaw puzzle that is working basic sphere blocks together into wards.
This is what a bitter, quietly angry girl does when she isn't cleaning and making sure the place stays nice. She minds her own business, stays out of people's way, and does exactly what she promised she would - and never mind that she's not best pleased with the person she promised.
It should probably also be said that, in all the time since Pan brought her out to stay at the Chantry house, she's only taken him up on his offer to play chauffeur once. Other than that? Well, goodness only knows, with her.
(I didn't specify what the first roll was for, but it was for general information about the care and feeding of nodes.

[OOC: Hey Court! I'll try to grab you some time next week once I'm done moving and available again, and we can talk about node/spirit guardian stuff. As for the casting, the Ward rote requires Corr 2, so this isn't an effect she'd be able to cast. She'd have to find a Corr Initiate (or higher) to take care of that.]

[No worries! This was mostly to establish that she's working on it, in the background. Pushing boundaries and understandings and all that! And to put forth that, as she's been asked to learn about such things, the first sphere she'll go for is Corr. Good luck with moving!]
