Knockin' on Heaven's Door (attn: jamie) - Joey - 05-16-2013

Jim goes out of his way to track down...

Fuck, what was it...

Oh, right.

Good friar. Robin Hood. Men in tights. Peter Pan. Pan. Goat's legs. Flock. Bahhh. Good Shepherd. The Church of the Good Shepherd.

He shakes his head with a chuckle, freeing himself of whatever humorous image he'd used to form the rest of that device in his own addled memory.

And by way of the church, goes out of his way to track down Pan Echeverria. He's got a bit of news. Well, that's a bit of an understatement.

News of Jake, a consor of Jim's Tradition, who approached a group of them - Pan had spoken of how he thought their drawing together might portent something greater - and spoke of a missing lover: Shelby, yet another Cultist of Ecstasy. And also of an entire cabal of six disappeared from Denver for weeks.

News of a fellow Seer, Seraphine, and her vision - depicting twelve piles of ash. Mounds in a dark and ashen world, with no sky, no stars, no moon. Arranged in a circle or star, maybe some kind of high ritual? That resulted in a ring of those mounds of ash, with a young girl in the center. Pleading for help. And a man that emerged from a white mist to claim her, the girl's crying eyes, in Serafine's prophesy, claimed by the same mists as she was lead off into them.

"Come with me, and we will unmake the world," the ashen man's words to the girl. "A phoenix can only rise from ashes," the girl's own.

His own divination - scrying into the present, out along the highways and byways of Denver - first presented him with nothing. It wasn't until he wove in lines of fate, destiny, and entropy that his fishing line, cast into the ocean of the Eternal Moment, revealed the place. A lot, still dotted with a circle of ashes, on W 12th St. This jogged her consor Jake's memory, and he recalled that Shelby's parents owned a warehouse on that same thoroughfare.

And finally, news of plans to check it out. Try and divine more than just the now, but into the then, with Serafine and Jim working their will on the Tapestry in concert.

Though if Pan couldn't make it? Perhaps that was for the better. If a cabal of six could go missing, what could one more willworkers do if things went South? Best to have someone on the outside.

[ So, there's a scene tonight in the Mage venue regarding this. Short notice, I know, but I figure Jim would at least try and keep him in the loop. Jim's not too proud to ask for help, if Pan can make it, and either way would want to keep the other willworkers of Denver he knows how to get in touch with apprised of the situation. ]
