Hacks + Helpful Things - kai - 08-14-2014

I am making a thread for sites/organizations/hacks/what-have-you that people might find helpful in our attempts to Do Life. Not all of them will be RP-related, like this first one I want to share:

http://www.phobiasatthemovies.com/

From their About page:
Here at phobiasatthemovies.com we screen films in search of 8 of the most common phobias in the world. We then provide you with a list of phobias that occur in each film as well as an approximate time it appears and for how long it remains visible or in some cases audible. This way you can decide if you feel comfortable enough to view the film or if you would rather skip the scenes that might make you feel uncomfortable.

They add new movies every day -- Guardians of the Galaxy, TMNT, Lucy, Get On Up have all been screened already. If you have a common phobia, as I know some of you do, this could help you see movies (spoiler-free whenever possible) without the always-fun "Surprise! Time to trigger your fight or flight instinct!" experience.

OMG THIS IS THE COOLEST THING EVER

Now I can stop almost breaking movie seats whenever a spider pops up unexpectedly on the big screen. Thank you, Kai!

Also, similarly to the link Kai posted: http://doesthedogdie.com/

From the site:
Do you turn off Old Yeller before the end so you can pretend that he lived a long and happy life? Did a cute pet on a movie poster make you think it would be a fun comedy but it turned out to be a pet-with-a-terminal-illness tearjerker instead? Are you unable to enjoy the human body count in a horror movie because you're wondering whether the dog's going to kick the bucket? Have you ever Googled "Does the [dog/cat/horse/Klingon targ] die in [movie title]?"

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then welcome - DoestheDogDie.com is here for you!

This site tracks more than just dog deaths, and it has three ratings: No pets die, A pet is injured but ultimately doesn't die, and A pet dies. Could help those of us with the softhearted flaw keep from being fooled by trailers like Marley and Me.
