Transcripts and Special Characters! - FadedNoel - 12-15-2014 So, a while ago I released the SceneLogFixerUpper program that I used to pretty up the transcripts retrieved from this site so that character names with special characters would show up correctly, and line breaks could be fixed to show up properly when copy-pasted into a blog. That was a standalone program though. And it only worked on Windows. Now, I have access to the site files. This means I can fix the transcripts directly. Which I have done! If you check now, you'll see that character names with accents and umlauts and whatever the heck else in them are encoded correctly. And, all you'll have to do to get your text into your blog is to view the transcript in your browser of choice, and copy/paste the text. (If you copy/paste the source code, with the tags, you might end up with extra lines. You don't have to do that anymore.) RE: Transcripts and Special Characters! - Jacqui - 12-15-2014 Yaaaay, cheers! Nice work, Noel. RE: Transcripts and Special Characters! - Damon - 12-15-2014 *fireworks and cheers* RE: Transcripts and Special Characters! - kai - 12-16-2014 Noel is killing iiiiit. This is awesome! RE: Transcripts and Special Characters! - FadedNoel - 12-16-2014 Added another mode to this. You'll note that the Transcript link now has a buddy! Clicking "No Line Breaks" will give you a version of the transcript that does not have extra line breaks added to it. I put in the line breaks for myself, because I like the way it formats in Blogspot, but from talking to people, it seems to be an unwelcome addition if you're using WordPress, or if you like to copy the html out of the file or something. So use it how you like! |
