For what it's worth, Errin, I don't think anyone meant to attack you personally. I think we just disagreed with the changes and/or the way the changes were being implemented. If it felt like we were leaping to Sam and Kai's defense, that's because in a sense we were. But I think we did that because we saw something fundamentally unfair in the proposed changes, and I like to think that we'd do the same for anyone put in that position.
I'll admit I was a little taken aback at how negative and pessimistic your response was. I thought the discussion -- while intense, and while involving some genuine feelings of hurt and anger -- had been pretty civil and non-personal up until that point. I also thought it was a thoughtful, well-considered conversation, and contained a wide range of opinions and solutions. I was hoping that you'd respond in kind and perhaps even welcome a candid dialogue about the future and direction of the site, and I was honestly a little dismayed by your reaction.
If your post is any reflection of your current disappointment and disillusionment, then I think you're probably right to pass the torch to someone else. I don't mean that in a "get out!" way -- at all. In fact, I hope you stick around and keep in touch. I'm just frankly a little concerned, and I hope some time off will help you regain a more positive perspective.
I also hope you eventually come to remember that everyone playing on this site wholeheartedly believed in and contributed to your original vision for the site. Denver is a special site built on some pretty special ideals, and I think all of us are sincerely grateful to you for making the site a reality, and for giving your admins the freedom to craft some pretty awesome games. And lastly, I'd like to echo the posts above me in saying that if you want to come back, or even stick around, you'd be welcomed with open arms.
