Just a thought -- are we experiencing sudden and severe site slowing due to bandwidth throttling? I remember Dreamhost actually gave you unlimited bandwidth, but it's possible that it's "unlimited" in the way cell phone data is "unlimited" -- i.e. go over a certain amount and you'll still get data but it will be slow as fuckballs.

If that's not it, though, it's probably some sort of issue w/ Dreamhost's servers.

The slowness is apparently due to the server being overloaded. Tech support offered to transfer us over to a new, less trafficked server, but I haven't heard back about it since last night =[
