[Sadly I'm going to have to wrap this scene up, since we've got a live scene to do tonight. But you guys are welcome to still respond if you'd like to. This is just the only chance I have to write anything before this evening so I wanted to get it done while I could.]
-------------
It wasn't long before a man appeared bearing trays of more substantial food. When he arrived, Hestor came back inside and pressed something on the wall that made the glass panel slide upward. Whatever form of nonviolent weapon they'd used to pacify the prisoners earlier, she still wore it strapped around her wrist, and upon opening the door it was held at the ready (in case any of them thought to try and escape.) Of course, if Grace, Lena or Patience wanted to be free of their cell, they had other skills at their disposal besides speed and brute force. But these people didn't know that.
The man set the food down on the table and left. Moments later, Lita arrived with more clothes and placed them neatly on one of the chairs. After that, the panel was lowered and another guard came to take over for Hestor while the two women left - presumably to attend the Council meeting that Olga had mentioned. The new guard was a younger blond woman, and she gave the prisoners a curious look before walking back out to the balcony to give them some privacy.
The food both looked and smelled delicious. Some kind of roasted game hen with root vegetables, herbs and dried fruit. The prisoners would have the rest of the night to eat their fill and get cleaned up, if they chose. Presumably at some point they managed to get some sleep - if sleep was a thing they wished to get. (After their journey, they'd be in sore need of proper rest.)
In the morning, Olga came to visit them again. She had Lita with her, and the two of them communicated in quiet tones with the blond guard outside. When they entered the room, the guard opened the cell, and Olga smiled and held out her hand.
"Welcome to Winter's Edge."
