Grace doesn't like parties. The kinds of shindigs Sera throws are massive, with people crammed in together. Grace thinks (and she might be (probably is) wrong) that those strangers expect you to be of a type -- that if you're there, you must be there for everyone else. The extroverted horde doesn't understand all too much why the introvert wants to go find a nice quiet corner and read -- especially when there is such a throng as to be able to suffocate an elephant.
Grace didn't buy a box of cupcakes earlier for the privelege of being invited to some noisy press of human flesh. She decided to go because it's Sera doing the inviting.
She's not heard much about what's lately gone down for her friend. Maybe that's not the friendliest thing for her to do -- be ignorant like that. There's been mention, at the periphery, that things might not all have been perfect in Sera-land. Hints, like Mike having to go pick her up and such. For all Grace knows, Sera 'suffered' from an epic bender. She was a bit distracted at the time with the whole Nephandus thing. With the whole falling in love thing. With herself.
There are ways not to be such a stranger. Grace doesn't need to know everything, or anything at all. But just being there is worth it, right?
Well, hopefully, yes.
It is in such a frame of mind that Grace shows up to the house of Sera at around 2, large white bakery box in hand, having braved the temperatures by layering her red coat over her grey jacket over a black t-shirt (because why have different articles of clothing? It only makes deciding what to wear more difficult...)
