The concerns were piling up, literally. His desk looked disorganized and the notice board hidden behind the projector screen was even worse. He wasn't looking at that, not yet, though he wanted to. The contents of the notice board were far more interesting to Darcy than the piles of reports and papers on his desk. Still, things were piling up, and that would not do. The longer he put off dealing with them the more heat he would be under for the other thing. He lifted one heap of paper and drew it across the desk towards him. He shun the desk-light on it and thumbed through the pages.
Coroner's reports, all the same, an endless stream of them. Bite marks. Drained of blood. Eviscerated - Eviscerated - he found the word offensive for some reason. Now, this one was interesting: Severed limbs, disemboweled, decapitated, head found inside body cavity. Someone out there thought they were being creative, a real artist.
That was the problem with the Sabbat, too messy. Well, one of the problems. There were too many to count. As for the eviscerated: He couldn't wave a magic wand and make it all disappear exactly, but as far as the Camarilla of Denver were concerned, the truth wasn't far off. The downside was it would cost him. Favors weren't free, not even when you all but enslaved the individual who was performing the favor for you. No, there would be a price and he would pay it. He made a few ambiguous notes in a leather bound journal, wound it back up and placed it and the reports back to the far corner of his desk from whence they had come.
Then there was the matter of the 'blood' lake.
The mouth in the zoo, or so he had heard from a discussion at Elysium. Hell, everyone had heard. Crazy woman and her monkeys. The Harpies were having a field day.
Oh, let's not forget talk about the Las Vegas Methuselah. Utter nonsense, he was certain, but the fact the rumor was being spread was problem enough.
These issues would not be dealt with so easily. He took pen to paper and wrote a letter.
