Okay, so! We have a storyline that I believe is still stewing in the background. We've all been busy/unavailable as of late because of holidays and work and evil oompa loompas but! I would love to get the ball rolling again in the new year to get the story going again.

Colorado Springs had a rash of murders of awakened people, one being super bizarre and another being what one could only assume were executions.!

Laura Fairbanks: found dead in her home in April, gunshot wounds and a very clean crime scene. 
Investigation revealed that Laura Fairbanks was shot by a guy named Wiley who is proving to be pretty dang hard to pin down. Wiley seems to be part of an organization called the Fraternal Order of the Falcon, which seems to be a hunting lodge/masonic order/boy's club/whatever; it seems suspect. 

Chet LaCroix: found dead in May off a hiking trail, gunshot wound. Nobody cares about you, Chet. Go home. 

Jacqueline Paix: found dead in June, supposedly of hypothermia (still has some gunshot wounds anyway, apparently post-mortem). Jacqueline was of an established(ish) mage who seemed to do rituals and such with a coven comprised of four individuals (Evelyn, Devon, Odessa, and herself). Jacqueline seemed to believe that Evelyn betrayed her in some way, but in a way that she can't explain due to some pact with an ancient spirit (thanks Keeper of Secrets!)

IN THE MEAN TIME! Apprentices are still missing and while most people in Colorado Springs seem to trust Evelyn and the other mage in charge of making the place work, there are a few who are very suspicious of her.

I mean that we have an entire city with a history and locations and people inside of it, but it's largely a blank slate. Wouldn't it be great to have book shops and coffee houses and hookers on street corners that everyone knows but doesn't talk about? This is where y'all come in. 

How do you feel about doing a little world building? Either by creating locations for people to visit, writing up NPCs for the city itself, or playing in some oneshots that take place in Denver's past (or even Denver's future) with those NPCs that we have floating around. Denver has an in character history, but the history means nothing if players don't feel invested in it. So, I want to give you the opportunity to invest, get creative, and try not to explode the world.

I know that I'm either currently in or owe scenes to a number of you.  Pretty much all of y'all are waiting on me at this point, and for that I'm sorry.

But!  It is not without reason.  Some of you know, but others don't, so:  I'm moving homes between cities this Saturday and also started a new job this week.  Between the schedule that now consumes most of my daytime hours and trying to cram reducing, packing, and moving into a week on top of that...  Well, suffice to say I don't have a lot of spare time and what time I do have is reserved for rest.

The good news is that there's internet already intact where I'm moving in, and I'll have fairly regular access to wifi on my commute to and from work as well.  I'm bringing a lot of stuff to a screeching halt, but it's just for a week!

And it's in those kinds of scenes that great ideas and friendships are formed organically. Lately, I've been seeing a lot of pre-made stuff, not a whole lot of organic stuff -- and not a whole lot of open scenes in general.

And I will admit, a good part of my grief with this is that with everyone off doing their own thing in circumscribed groups, those outside the groups (Cabals!) get left to fall into isolation. Like Grace. Seriously, have only done one scene in July so far, and I'm getting twitchy all over.

Consider this an open invitation to drag me off to do whatever. And also, I'll be trying to start up some open scenes here if I can get participation. If you see me hanging out alone on the chat sometime, stop by and say hi! I will love you forever.]]>

Hey folks,

As you all know, Howl has decided to step away from the role of Mage Admin.  Obviously, we will all miss our ST.  Fortunately, we have a small but active player base and several people have expressed interest in stepping into the role.  The fact that so many of you were ready and willing to step into the sometimes thankless but always-necessary role of admin is really encouraging.  

Anyway!  I have asked Heather to take the reins and I plan to have her segue into the role toward the end of March / beginning of April.  During the interim, I'll help with any issues that you guys might have and will be working to resolving the outstanding storyline.  

In the meantime, I want to reassure everyone that continuity is very important to me and I believe that Heather shares my commitment to a degree of continuity that respects the game to date, but also allows room for new storytellers and new ideas, new enmities and new stories.  Please also note that Howl would like to remove her NPCs from the game so they will mostly be fading into the background.

This way, Heather will have time to make some of her own plans and dive directly into them.  

So: here are the scenes I'd like to run (or may ask someone else to run for me):

Grace - Grace covers her tracks and gathers information.

Nicholas/Kiara - some sort of spirit questioning / quest / info gathering thing.

Kalen/Sera - scrying to see if they can find a technocratic ally and then Kalen / Sera / Pen - seeking out / negotiating with the ally.

Sepulveda / Kiara with support from the others - RESCUE ALEXANDER (??)

Sepulveda / Kiara / Margot / Ned / Sera / Pen - fake a body / stage a flame-out (with assistance from Annie and Sasha) / scrub the timeline clean of traces of their presence - Concurrent with or after the rescue.

Obviously the first three scenes will guide the the arrangement for the final scenes, but I would like to arrange and get them going as soon as we can.    I'll start a different thread for the scheduling of the scenes.  If anyone involved has any other scenes in mind, please let me know and I will address them.
