Unfortunately we've already got 4 characters involved, and I don't have time to squeeze in another intro scene. Sorry. :/ Next time I run something, I'll make sure that anyone who didn't get a chance to be in this SL will get priority.

This post should be titled: "Are Viruses Alive? - a Trilogy"

(Or: "Jesus Howl, just make up your damn mind.")

So basically, it's been up for debate as to whether virus agents should be considered living or not. Preliminary investigation via the internet told me that viruses are not considered "alive". So I went and ruled that they were under the purview of Matter. However, after talking to Noel and doing a bit more in-depth research, I feel that the definition is mostly a semantic one. Viruses cannot reproduce on their own, but nonetheless I think, having DNA, they meet the requirements of Life in the basic sense. So basically, for those of you who I told to use Matter... I was totally wrong. My final ruling on this for the purpose of this SL is that viruses do fall under the Life sphere. (Though ultimately the decision should fall to Sam, as the Admin, so if he disagrees with this, that's totally his call.)

Anyway, apologies to everyone for my fickle decision-making process. At this point I forget who I told what, or how this change of decision will have affected past Arete rolls. I don't think it will have made a dramatic difference, since ultimately everyone got the info they were looking for anyway, but if anyone wants to have a roll re-interpreted or to make any new rolls, please feel free to drop me a message and I'll correct the error.

Alright guys, we're coming up on the final stretch of the SL - woo!

I have a scene to do with Lena on Sunday, and after that, there will be 3-4 scenes left to finish out the plotline (depending on how things go at the end.) Here are the scenes and the order we need to do them in:

1: Sid and Grace.

2: Sera

3: Definitely Lena and Sera. Possibly Sid and/or Grace. This is the part that's still pretty open-ended as far as involvement, and I may need to split the scene into two parts depending on what the characters decide to do.

As for my schedule, next week I will not be around on the 29th (as it's my mom's birthday) or the 31st (because Halloween!) but all other days are open. I'd love to do the Sid and Grace scene on Monday, if possible. Would that work for you two?

And then, if so, would Liz be open to doing Sera's scene on Wednesday?

Which would leave Friday and possibly Saturday for the conclusion.

If those dates don't work out for any of you though, I can post-pone and get them done as schedules allow. I'd prefer to finish next week, but it's fine if we can't.

Monday works! And I can tell you right now that if Sid is able to cure herself and Grace, next order of business is kicking down someone's door to find her friends (she doesn't expect to rescue them because Lena and Sera are BAMFs and will probably rescue themselves). So she would probably be in some sort of conclusion thing.

So, all of those dates work for me, actually! I'm off next Friday so whenever people are available is whenever I will be around for the whole weekend.
